Resetting Windows 10

If your computer isn’t running the way it should, you are getting strange errors or you just want to get it back to its default state, Windows 10 includes built-in recovery options to reset and re-install the operating system.

Before you refresh or reset Windows, you should back up all of your files, just to be safe.

Once you have done that, click on the Start menu and select the settings icon.

In the settings screen, click on ‘Update & Security’:

In the Update & Security window, select the ‘Recovery’ tab:

From this screen, you can select to ‘Go back to an earlier build’ (a previous version of Windows if you have updated it) or ‘Reset this PC’ to completely re-install Windows.
