To gain a true read on each battery’s capacity, as per industry standards, we test the battery under the power setting ‘Maximise My Battery Duration’. Our benchmark is 80% capacity and above. Once we have run our tests, we revert back to the default BIOS setting, ‘Maximise My Battery Health’.

The setting, ‘Maximise My Battery Duration’, is an eco-mode. It allows the battery to last as long as possible between charges. The default setting, ‘Maximise My Battery Health’, maximises battery health by lowering the maximum battery charge level to 80%. This is more akin to using sports mode in a car, so it will drain the battery quicker than in ‘Maximise My Battery Duration’ mode.
